A Chara,
Mothers Alliance Ireland has viewed the Irish Medicines
Board November report of adverse reactions to Gardasil HPV vaccine which
has been administered in secondary schools across Ireland.
I have been asked by our members to write to you to express our dismay at
the failure of the IMB to alert schools and parents and the general
public to the implications of these adverse reactions, and also their
anger and disbelief at the flippant manner in which Dr. Joan Gilvarry dismissed
the suffering of the young vaccinees who experienced these reactions (Irish
Times 15th November "We are not at all concerned at what we have seen").
The IMB is not at all concerned about anaphylactic shock and all the other
adverse reactions reported? The IMB has no sympathy at all for the
young people and their families who have suffered and who are still
suffering? This public display of lack of concern just beggars
belief.
MAI has repeatedly pointed out to the IMB that there is a wealth of
scientific evidence to prove that Gardasil is neither safe, effective or
necessary at this point in time. Young people are being put at risk of
permanent damage to their health and welfare by the failure of the IMB and
others in positions of authority to provide the full facts about this unsafe,
unnecessary, ineffective and costly vaccine.
MAI is now requesting that you tell parents, schools and the general
public the whole truth about this dangerous drug so that parents can make an
informed choice for their children. We ask that you do this without
delay.
MAI would also like to know what steps you have taken to protect the
young people who have experienced adverse reactions, from any further risk to
their health.
This e-mail is being cc'd to the Minister for Health, The Ombudsman
for Children, Barry Andrews, Parents Council's and others committed to
safeguarding the health and welfare of our children, including the Ombudsman for
Children.
Please acknowledge receipt of this e-mail asap and do let us know what the
IMB proposes to do about the situation.
Is mise,
Nora Bennis
MAI National Spokesperson.
